I recently sent an admin assistant friend a card to acknowledge all the hard work she does every day and included a gift of brownies. I am not a freelancer as such but I do work from home and I’ve training my boss and colleagues to stop arranging meetings after 4pm (still working on that one), I’ve been forcing myself to step away from the keyboard and to stop checking work emails after hours. Definitely. Just once in a while… I find I have those moments as well, and if you’re not right there with the pen or the keyboard, then you’ve lost it. Picturing Earnest Hemmingway propping up the bar… But you definitely don’t have to be screwed up to be creative. Artists are definitely twisted.
