Spokesperson for the company, Lisa Hawks blamed the glitches on their software supplier, Oracle which presumably can forecast demand and plan the coordinating inventory, but stated the problem was under control and wouldn’t happen again. It was impossible to deal with Best Buy’s customer service.

Shop around : Make sure you are getting the best deals from all you suppliers- right down to your electricity, broadband and gas bills. If your business has an inventory make sure you source the best suppliers at the right price, and don’t be afraid to haggle ! In this economy, every price is negotiable.

By charging by the hour you are creating so many barriers to doing business that your chances of securing the order is very small, if you are competing with someone who offers fixed pricing you have virtually no chance of getting the order. In my experience you can charge more, if you charge a fixed fee and get organized.

Does your organization have a Facebook page where a customer can either “Like” or become “Friends”? The company now claims to have organized a Down Task Force establishing a traceability system of new procedures. Nowadays businesses are either riding the social media train or stranded at the depot.
