I have heard of EAs working for successful international corporations and earning a very large salary. You care less, you’re easily annoyed, you start to do a cost-benefit analysis, you feel resentful, and you feel short changed. This is one of the main reasons why I endorse temping and working thru recruiting and placement agencies.

The staffing agent asked if I was open to temp to perm, even though the position was for a full time EA, he feels the CEO may need time to see if it is a good fit. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position. It feels like a bait and switch and there are no guarantees.
