You’ll have to apologize for mistakes you made or for something you forgot and that fell through the cracks or for being snappy in that last email. If I didn’t love my job then ANY time doing it would be costing me more than it’s worth. But having the self-esteem, confidence, and finding the balance is hard.

Especially when you’re inexperienced, self-esteem issues come into play – having people you respect say that you’re doing something right. Zero marginal cost products will approach zero in price over time. Ebooks aren’t a zero marginal cost product. Walking your own path takes a lot of guts.

I’d rather work with people who self-identify as businesspeople rather than bloggers. Businesspeople understand investment, as opposed to cost. When their readers don’t actually know what they do, because they never visit the site, they simply open Google Reader or their email for the RSS feed. They have a budget.
