Have the confidence to take the lead, be proactive and have a conversation with your boss. On the day I reverted to ‘show and tell’ and picked up the annual catalogue of restaurants for both of my bosses which greatly impressed them. The modern PA must embrace the current culture in order to remain connected, current and relevant.

Meeting other assistants who work near by, who share the same suppliers, hotels, restaurants etc. Sherien : The advice I would give my younger self would be to have more confidence and self-belief. The main challenge these days is still lack of confidence. It’s also about giving confidence to each and every member.
