I have been on some interactive sites where assistants ask questions and get answers and I learn from them as I have some of the same questions. Lunch n learns are also a good way to learn from each other. Administrative newsletters or bulletin boards where you can post tips or suggestions is a good way to learn.

If you are a new hire, take the time to learn and ask questions. I always feel more confident when a new hire asks me a question and gets all the information before proceeding. The first months on the job are a learning and growing experience. Take advantage of this time to learn as much as you can and ask, ask, ask.

I feel confident as I check off each item that things will be done on time. I had a notepad and pen with me so continued the minutes by hand, but it was a lesson learned to check in the bottom right hand corner of my computer to see if I actually have power. No surprises! Choose New. My battery power died half way through the meeting.

I can honestly say that even though it was a hard time to go through, I ended up getting a much better job and a better opportunity and can look back on it as a good learning experience.
