Luckily, in my office, we dress in casual clothes all of the time and we do have a corporate policy of being able to dress up in a costume for this event. Check with your Human Resources Department or manager to see if this falls into your corporate policy.

Dress in comfortable clothes (I recommend Hawaiian shirts). In other words, the ability to work and travel. In a number of cases I’ve been able to use my travel to fund my writing. I have to admit that freelancing can get a little lonely. Smoke breaks with friends. You get a regular paycheck and paid benefits.
