This week I am presenting the World Class Assistant Certificate Program (Parts 1 and 2) at Nationwide Insurance. However, we have several assistants who traveled from out-of-state to attend this program. After class last night, she drove me to a local store. This entails four consecutive days (full days) of training.

The point of the above exercise is to figure out if the solution is something that can be fixed with a little action/daily maintenance (go on vacation, take better care of yourself, respectively) or will take long term planning and goals/strategy (move closer to family or save enough money to travel for a year).

We also get a mini break when our boss is traveling as the stress level is generally lower and we can catch up on our workload. Other jobs, because they were temp to full time, I didn’t even have the benefits of paid vacation time or paid sick days for almost a year. During the interview process ask about the company culture.
