Even The NOW Year wall calendar starts in January. I also understand that I’m an outlier when it comes to when I make the start of my year, so I still lean in and share how my calendar year went in posts like this. I’ll be looking back through my journal entries to make sense of this review as well. Something small.

The gentleman on the call introduced himself as a consultant with a well-known local staffing agency who had reviewed the resume I had uploaded to the organization's website. For most administrative professionals, the majority of our roles contain functions that recur, such as calendar management, expense reporting and travel arrangements.

I can only say I am pretty certain how talented and qualified you are since I don’t know your previous experience, how long you’ve been in this role, and how your performance reviews are. EA work is typically admin work - phones, travels, calendars, expense reports, mtgs/luncheons, etc. So I think you are on a good path.

Other jobs, because they were temp to full time, I didn’t even have the benefits of paid vacation time or paid sick days for almost a year. It always perplexes me when small companies do not hire a temp or have in mind another staff person to fill in for the admin or EA to go on a vacation or call in sick.

Right now I just put things on his calendar and order food. And as I was working, job hunting and/or temping, I had to find other sources of happiness. This was mostly as a temp during very slow months when the entire industry was on vacation, but I’m sure the paycheck wasn’t as amazing as yours. Many thanks! I feel your pain.
