Unfortunately, that company is no longer in business, but I spent a few years as their community spokesperson, writing professional development articles for admins and traveling the country to meet our admin community on a regular basis. Take a Leadership Role in IAAP. In short, I became an Admin Leader, just as I always wanted to be.

There is a local chapter for IAAP but I don't find it to have the content and structure that I'm looking for. Try to attend training courses that are offered for executive admin as much as you can (even if it is just one time a year and you travel to another city for it).
