No matter how wonderful the blog, it’s not going to encourage more readership and page views by trying to force the busy living masses to visit each one of its posts individually on site. Personally, if I am impressed enough with a blog that I’ve gone to the trouble to subscribe to its RSS feed, then subsequently am only allowed an opening snippet in my feed reader, I will simply unsubscribe and save myself any further hassle.
