The Account Manager role was a little side step along my career path but required the same skills I would need in my next role as a PA and Administrative Manager. Arranging catering and dealing with external suppliers. Taking minutes, writing agendas and attending meetings. Dressing professionally. Learning to multi-task.

I believe meeting planners and administrative professionals possess similar skills/traits that enable them to be good at what they do. Program Content/Agenda . I found them to be valuable assets not only because of their knowledge and well-established relationships with suppliers but their buying power as well.

Wherever you are planning your event ask your venue to ensure they buy local food and drink product and wherever possible use local suppliers. Sometimes we just need things written down and all we really want is an agenda on a piece of paper! This notion is true of whatever city you are in. Hannah Luffman. hannahluffman.

Give a presentation on what benefits you bring to the company - Especially in a group interview setting, this can be a good way to showcase your presentation skills – something often difficult to really do in a traditional interview. Help them better leverage partners and suppliers? Help them attract and retain top talent?

I would encourage Joshua and everyone else working from home to relearn the social skills of building local friendships, or live near family and give you the social life you need.
