When a meeting is finalized, I put the scheduling sheet in a completed file. Another benefit to writing it down is if your boss asks you to cancel it or to quickly tell you when the meeting is, you can look at the sheet rather than trying to search for it in your calendar.

This is useful if you want to file the email and change the Subject line to something that better describes what the email is about or to put notes in the email. I also drag items from my Inbox if someone sends me an email to advise they will be sending an agenda or some other item by a certain date.

I use hanging file folders labelled from January through to December. Every afternoon before I leave for the day, I go through the hanging file for that month to see if there is anything I need to bring forward for the next day. A tip she passed along had to do with the bring-forward system and has been a great tool for me.
