If you’re arranging a meeting for your Boss, pay attention to the agenda. I’m not suggesting you become a doormat but be willing to put in an extra hour or two when needed, for example in a crisis. Understand the company agenda. Talk to your boss and find out the goals he or she has, what they expect you to accomplish. Now that you’re in a supervisory role, gossiping for any reason is a no-no. Lead by example. They key is to ask lots of questions and listen carefully without injecting your own opinion.

But after working a few years in the traditional media world – which, by the way, is not a very friendly place to be, always challenged, filled with gossip and back talking – I felt the need for a change. A fulfilling, balanced relationship, in which any of the peers are genuinely supporting each other is a good example for that.
