I was out of work, temping here and there for a year. Employers may get to see a side of you other than what you put on your resume or present at the interview. Don’t underestimate the value of temping. Working for a temp agency can either land you a full-time job or help to keep you employed while you are looking.

The shortest route is to look for temp work thru agencies or TaskRabbit, Craiglist, or volunteer. 3) Can you afford to live off of an EA’s salary after being a lawyer? The only way to get a great salary hike is thru time and growing responsibility just like any other job. Most admin stay admin.

After only 2 weeks, I found a great company through a staffing agency and the position was full time working for a wonderful CEO. I did very well on my interviews and it's down to me and one other EA who already has a full time job. I have no idea how long "temp" is considered before they would offer the permanent position.
