With us, travel is always interesting. Of course, the investment in travel goes well beyond money. I am not a flexible person.

I arrived before my room was available so decided to sit in the lobby bar, check my emails and people watch. Having booked business travel to Houston more times than I can actually remember I am very aware of how little time executives have when they arrive in Houston. The amenities include: ARA restaurant. AXIS lounge.

I had just spent 2 months travelling around a freezing USA and although back in the UK my body was still a little cold, a little jet lagged and in serious need of some rest and relaxation. Similar to a lot of spa hotels the Nutfield’s Cloister restaurant offers a three course meal (£38 per head) as part of the weekend package rates.

After a few hours lounging around I thought it was time to get up and check my emails – the wifi is perfect. The Mansion does have a restaurant on site called Circa 1886. After a thoroughly decent night sleep I made my way to breakfast which was served in the restaurant, located in the mansion’s garden.

Located in downtown Chicago there are loads and loads of cool restaurants and bars nearby. My suite also came with the beautiful Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin wireless audio system which meant I could play my terribly uncool music whilst I checked my emails at the work desk. The ACME is a great choice for business travel in Chicago.

I manage his schedule and monitor his emails, as well as help organise some of his travel, company events, and client dinners, occasional research, expenses and ad hoc tasks – all the general PA duties. There are some fab vietnamese restaurants – I’m partial to a kimchi banh mi.

Meeting other assistants who work near by, who share the same suppliers, hotels, restaurants etc. This then took me into the arena of public speaking and gave me the opportunity to be on the PA panel at ACES 2014. I actually don’t have a laptop at home and conduct all my organising, social media and emailing through my iPhone.
