It is a lovely part of Geneva with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. I did manage to escape work for long enough to pick up some groceries from the local supermarket with the intention of using the wonderfully equipped kitchen for some home cooking. Advertised minimum rate per night is 550 CHF (October 2014).

The hotel is surrounded by really nice restaurants, shops, cafes and bars which makes it a perfect location if you are travelling over for business and do not have a car. In fact you probably wouldn’t want to return home. Advertised minimum rate per night $339 (January 2014). . The suite itself was stunning.

I wasn’t disappointed. The Doubletree was situated in the heart of downtown Memphis; close to plenty of fantastic restaurants, shops and local attractions including the Fedex Forum and Memphis Redbirds stadium. On the ground floor of the hotel the space did look well maintained with a variety of flexible rooms and AV equipment.

The doorman was lovely and didn’t mind carrying my bright pink suitcase. The equipment was top of the range and the space was really well designed. As it was Sunday the restaurant was very busy catering for the New York Sunday brunch crowd. Advertised minimum rate is $595 per room (April 2014). .

Each room is equipped with the following: Etro toiletries. I must say this little list doesn’t quite give you an idea of the room’s luxury. If it wasn’t for the fact I had not been to Washington DC before and therefore had to do some sightseeing I would have stayed in the bed, possibly forever.

The surprises began with dinner at the swankiest restaurant from their hometown in Brussels and progressed to skydiving, matching tattoos and a “bachelor’s” weekend in Ireland. Not wanting to burden or rely on others for rides, the teen walked an approximately 10-mile round trip commute to work, in the dark, for more than a year. Elisa Zied.

After a few hours of mindless TV and napping (what can I say the duvet was just too inviting to ignore) I decided I wasn’t being very Parisian so I made my way to the bathroom where I took thorough advantage of the marble bath and a large glass of vin rouge. The little touches didn’t end there. That is what I call service!
