The goal here is to regularly create pitches/articles targeted to the right media and groups to showcase your expertise. While Facebook or Twitter might be working reasonably well, you might be able to enjoy even more customer engagement if you tried audience outreach via livestreaming video or audio broadcasts. and it works great!

It is imperative to be proactive about self-promotion in order to showcase your skills, achievements and personal brand. The Skill-set of the modern PA is a far cry from tea and typing: Exceptional Communication – with colleagues, clients, suppliers, peers and the public (includes Active Listening).

So, when I tell you I understand its hard to promote yourself, I mean it. Just doing a book promotion sent me into spasms of nerves. Many people are uncomfortable with the thought of slapping backs and promoting themselves to people they may or may not know. I didnt want people looking at me. And if you’re introverted?

Meeting other assistants who work near by, who share the same suppliers, hotels, restaurants etc. To never doubt my ability and stay focused on my goals. How did you promote the network? We have a Twitter account @edinburghpa and a Facebook page , which is mostly run by Sherien and we also have a private LinkedIn group.

There is quite a significant amount of ‘noise’ on Twitter, so it can be hard to find people to connect with. I myself like using FB, Twitter and LinkedIn for my clients.
