It would be much easier to keyboard it but I know it wouldn’t have the same effect as writing it by hand. I do feel much more comfortable with a keyboard than hand though. As for hand-writing versus keyboard, I too am much faster when using the latter, but for me, that’s not the point. I get hand cramps!

This is where bloggers get a head start: if you have a blog, you have a good reason to put fingers to keyboard on a regular basis. Perhaps you have all of three readers right now – but this means it’s a great time to practice and hone your skills before you have thousands of fans hanging on your every word. Any feedback?

Now, when I say ‘don’t write’, I don’t mean you should take a break or get away from the keyboard for a day. I often write late atnight, alone and even though the ideas are flowing, my typing skills diminish. That’s just common sense, and you should already be taking frequent breaks.

In fact, they seriously lack in professional qualifications, the kind required to be dispassionate and unbiased – essential skills if you truly want to help a person. No matter what the topic is, before you put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard, be sure that you have the qualifications to write about whatever you are about to share.

However, if they go to develop skills like writing and critical thinking, to learn more about the world and to connect with future leaders, then university is invaluable. I have used those skills almost every day of my working life. And now I coach public speaking skills. I did an Arts degree (Modern Languages).

It’s fun, but it’s not like I sit at my keyboard, occasionally throwing my arms into the air and squealing, “Wheeeeeee! However, he isn’t stodgy, and his social skills are better than mine. Writing is a skill that I will be working on much more over the next several years to lifetime. “That’s what I want.” I’m writing!”

It’s a great feeling to be able to sit down at the keyboard, fully confident in your ability, clean of any doubt or future-worry and, is especially great when the recommended 8.25 hours of sleep is achieved.
