Usually, when something is very easy, it is not impressive in any shape or form. I always encourage the people who I mentor to get involved in a project, organisation or cause bigger than themselves and today I have decided to encourage you to do the same. It is very easy to lose your cool in a tough or argumentative situation.

Our parents, our mentors, our employers talked with us. I firmly believe in charging for quality content; for me, ebooks and followup series work great. You may get your ebooks for free but you will have to pay $300 per hour to have a plumber come to your house. Ebooks aren’t a zero marginal cost product.

Role models come in many different forms. Ken Robinson in his book Element touched the topic of having heroes too, he said that having a mentor is much better than to dream of your hero. I was just another person, among the billions of others out there. Some can be found from audio tapes to self-help books or from videos to articles.

But what you’d really like to do is write an ebook or an ecourse to sell – and you’re not accustomed to writing in a longer format. Long-form writing is a whole different game. When you’re writing an ebook or an ecourse, you can’t just jump in on page one and hope for the best. That might be: A writing coach or business mentor.

Set aside the services we offer, strip away the great ebooks, the recommended resources, everything but the content. It was free because it was idle; it wasn’t supposed to be the sort of business expertise that many companies would shell out good money for in the form of a consultant. I think we are already seeing ebooks move to free.
