It’s best to have separate work spaces with required office equipment, but if that’s not possible, it’s even more important to be sensitive to the other person’s work style. For example, headphones are a good idea to eliminate distractions, or moving to another part of the house for a conference call is helpful. Stay connected.

If you fail to get this right, as I did with my online men’s store, then your customers won’t care about your offerings, and you’ll have to go back to your old cubicle job. This can be done from your home office but quickly becomes unscalable. As Tony Robbins likes to say, “Your network is your net worth.”. Or a service?
