While the idea of opening a men’s clothing store had come to Draper before, it didn’t fully take shape right away.

Fast cars, designer clothes and expensive gadgets serve the same purpose. Take a three week vacation and you’ll crave three months of work-travel freedom. I was filled with joy at the lifestyle my business afforded me. They make us happy and there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with that. Happiness never lasts.

All that matters is that you’re using your resources in something useless. To use Jonny’s example, less chocolate cake is not necessarily a bad thing — it could help a person create a healthier lifestyle. Particularly helpful when I go clothes shopping ! I know I won thousands of fights on the inside: I knew I was right.

When it was cold, it was really cold, we had to sleep with clothes on and didn’t have any other way to get warm. A survival situation is different in that all your regular resources will disappear, you’re on a different land and your life may be in danger. On the contrary. It was a tough place to be in. What’s the use of it?
