29% of employees quit their jobs within a month after their first promotion. In the time after giving an employee a promotion, many managers probably feel really great. In a surprising 29% of these stories, though, that same promoted employee quits — quickly. That’s a high point as a supervisor.

After information is delivered (training, new policies, etc.), Have every group member place their business card into a bowl or container. Then, everyone draws a card other than their own. When the group has something to celebrate (open new account, finish project on/ahead of time, promotions, etc.) Change Places.

She gave me her business card. 8) Be responsive I have a personal policy to respond to all emails within 24 hours if not if within 7 hours at most. During business hours, depending on if I am in meetings or not, I try to respond within minutes or 2-3 hours. I was dressed up in a suit so it was pretty obvious.

Bootstrappers don’t waste time with long business plans they start their small business immediately. I started my business with £50.

Write down anything, and I mean *anything*, that would potentially be a new blog post, book idea, promotion, whatever. My house is littered with ideas scribbled on the back of old business cards (I have accumulated quite a few of those in my nomadic career and wanted to put them to good use). Buy a digital recorder even!

Like carrying a business card. Branching out is a great gig—I make friends, I expand my thinking, I have a laugh, and it even has positive business results. As a virtual assistant, I tend to market and promote my services to my niche customer. Now there’s a niche! So yesyesyes. Stick with your niche.
