The minute I arrive at work I have a quick look at my calendar, then make up my to do list. Working for Scottish Government requires quite a bit of travel between offices so in one day I can be in Ayrshire, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Like all other PA’s I book lunches, travel arrangements, hotels and meeting rooms.

Now this came from an executive who traveled around the world, would work until 2:00 a.m., Daily Calendars. It is easy to place a wrong time or wrong date on a calendar. Or because so many executives are independent, they place events on their own calendars and forget to inform their administrative partner.

Last week I wrote about performance reviews and although I’m still not sure that the majority of performance reviews are all that helpful, especially for assistants. Are there review points throughout the course of the objective? I do think that objective setting is really important. I’m going to do this too!
