Although you don’t have to contribute or offer the same amount as everyone else, you should have it in your budget. Have money for job hunting and working. Whenever you interview for a job, there’s at least 2-3 interviews if not more. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

Even though I am an EA with over 15 years of experience at the C-level, it seems that all the recruiting agencies I have approached still require an applicant to come in for an appointment to take their basic employment testing, and then only seem to be able to offer lower-level administrative jobs. Know how to network and be helpful.

I found every single one of my jobs through a temping agency or by referral. I learned through informational interviews that I should apply to temp agencies. You may only land your job thru a friend and word of mouth from anyone that will take a chance on you as you transition. The longer specific answer is below.
