I did manage to escape work for long enough to pick up some groceries from the local supermarket with the intention of using the wonderfully equipped kitchen for some home cooking. Advertised minimum rate per night is 550 CHF (October 2014). Our opinions are entirely our own.

I know this area really, really well and yet I didn’t know there were 11 luxury serviced apartments literally opposite the last office I worked in before I moved to Barcelona. I really couldn’t believe that there were serviced apartments here, the entrance was shared with a pub! I was keen to see more.

Each room is equipped with the following: Etro toiletries. I must say this little list doesn’t quite give you an idea of the room’s luxury. If it wasn’t for the fact I had not been to Washington DC before and therefore had to do some sightseeing I would have stayed in the bed, possibly forever.

I wasn’t disappointed. There are so many good restaurants nearby that I don’t think many guests complain about the lack of dining options although it would be nice to have breakfast available within the hotel. Advertised minimum rate is $149 per person (March 2014). Opinions are entirely our own.

In fact you probably wouldn’t want to return home. The living area is open plan with a very well equipped kitchen, beautiful seating area with an extremely comfortable sofa and flat screen TV. Advertised minimum rate per night $339 (January 2014). . I was on the 11th floor, which can only be accessed using your key card.

The doorman was lovely and didn’t mind carrying my bright pink suitcase. The equipment was top of the range and the space was really well designed. Advertised minimum rate is $595 per room (April 2014). . This is me arriving at The Lowell , New York City. It was freezing cold and I was actually wearing two coats.

The suite had everything I needed for my stay including a fully equipped kitchen, a huge bedroom with two double beds, a big bathroom and a really comfortable lounge area with a patio door leading out to the balcony. The fitness centre in particular is really well equipped and it looks out over the sea which is a lovely touch.
