The Republic of Ireland looks like it has already started to make moves towards defining the term accountant with the establishment of the Irish Auditing and Accountancy Supervisory Authority in 2003. Maybe I am wrong, maybe there will be enough pressure in the UK for the term accountants to be legally defined?
