One of the most surprising things for me was to learn that not all companies will give you an expense account or a company credit card. The company will ask that you charge everything from business travel to catered lunches on your credit card and they will reimburse you. Have money for group gifts.

You can launch a survey to your personal network, start a Reddit discussion or pay for survey responses, but you do need to actually get out of your bubble and interact with other humans. Maybe you don’t have a massive personal network of ideal clients, or don’t want family members to know you’re launching a nerdy store.
