These days, many companies have moved to a structured hybrid model , which means it’s time to lop off the mullet and save the sweatpants for after 5 p.m. HR operations manager Christina Theine graduated from her college’s business school in 2011, and had purchased new clothes for interviewing.

Last week on the blog I wrote about how to dress down for work without looking unprofessional, particularly when the company allows for casual Friday. I received feedback that suggested a lot of companies have stopped casual Friday for one reason or another. It would seem that professional and smart attire is back in fashion.

A long time ago I blogged about what to wear since I was interviewing for non-corporate roles or companies. What throws me off more is when I interview for senior management at a very atypical company. Because fitting in with a company’s corporate culture is imperative, that also comes across in the way one dresses.

For my entire career I've been dressing up the same way for a job interview in Hollywood. When I was interviewing to work for a Chairman/CEO as his office Executive Hostess where I greeted clients, served beverages, and was in charge of catering for office functions, I was told what to wear by the girl I was replacing.

This company is so ginormous I am having a dizzy time of trying to wrap my brain around what all they do – various forms of power, civil engineering, and then the IT services side of it. It’s sort of a neat role too because the company has no other support roles in the US. You don’t want to annoy the EA or that company.
