Expecting a typical auto repair store with worn carpet, car and truck magazines and ugly metal chairs I was pleased to walk into an inviting waiting area; warm, clean, comfortable. Even better – the magazines were more to my liking with a recent copy of People Magazine.

I look at my to-do list at the beginning of each week and schedule my tasks in my calendar as if they were a client meeting. I found that if I blocked out time in my calendar, it helped me in a couple of ways. Keep An Editorial Calendar And Stick To It! Schedule It As A Meeting. In my line of work, this is imperative.

and the first thing I do is check my emails and the diary for the day. First thing I’ll make a cup of coffee, and print the diary for the day and address any urgent emails. I will then spend an hour working through emails and addressing anything that impacts the day or week ahead. I like to know what’s ahead of me!
