My boss (the COO) had organised a client golf day and I spent months finding top quality golf products for him to take along to the course. The cover had a swivel motion and also a keyboard, it was leather and had our logo stitched on to the side. Another great product I worked on was an expensive iPad cover for our top clients.

Now, my theory is that King didn’t get to write pretty darn good stuff every single time he sat down at the table just because he was genetically gifted with brilliance. It would be much easier to keyboard it but I know it wouldn’t have the same effect as writing it by hand. He’s been doing it for too long. I get hand cramps!

I am not a freelancer as such but I do work from home and I’ve training my boss and colleagues to stop arranging meetings after 4pm (still working on that one), I’ve been forcing myself to step away from the keyboard and to stop checking work emails after hours. You have plenty of time left for that client. Those days are better.

Of course, all the best-laid plans go astray, as they say. Of course my on-the-job experience was invaluable too, but the things I picked up at University are embedded in a different way. Speaking to the subject coordinator today, she said that the course is trying to keep up with the times in terms of new technology and media.
