million applications to get a business tax ID (EIN) in Q4, 2020.    But Q3 of 2020 was a blow quarter by any measure.  There were 1.15   This is an impressive 27% increase compared with Q4 of 2019. As the U.S. Census chart below shows, business applications fell from Q3 by 28%.

In 2020 the youngest baby boomers will be 55, the oldest 74.   As the chart below shows, by 2020  one quarter  of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects 43% of those 55+ to be in the labor force in 2020.  We expect close to 50% to be in the labor force in 2020. workforce will be 55 or older.

   As McKinsey's report chart below shows (click to enlarge), global coal demand peaked in 2014 and they are projecting oil demand to peak in 2029, and natural gas demand peaking in 2037.   A recent report by the International Energy Agency suggests oil supply and gasoline demand may have already peaked.

Ardent Partners recently released their 2016-2017 State of Contingent Workforce Management report.    According to the report, the use of contingent workers by corporations continues to grow and accounts for nearly 38 percent of all workers in 2016.   Ardent is also suggesting it could be as high as 50% by 2020.
