Just like plants need wind to grow, writers need some reassurance that they are not just going at it alone each time they sit at the keyboard. Many writers—as half of our population-at-large and 60% of gifted kids—are introverts. I was checking out books on Amazon a couple months ago, but couldn’t decide despite the reviews.

Going back to school was the best gift I could give myself. I use my English major to write, my art history minor to review design, and my Poli Sci degree to better understand people with different points of view. I think little bits of it also come out in my library worrk. When my son graduates, I will insist on it.
