That’s a crappy example, but you get the point. I like your before/after examples that light up the point. If I ever have to use an example of stupidity in my copy, that stupidity has to be on my part. If I’m pointing out my mistakes and how I learned a better way, it doesn’t come off as condescending.

April 2, 2010 at 7:01 pm The only thing I’d caution readers on (and I learned this the hard way) is that you need to make sure you take advantage of paid work whenever it’s available; marketing is great, but don’t spend all hours marketing and not making immediate revenue. This sounds like the generic stuff you put on your resume when you’re just out of college and don’t realize that your resume shouldn’t sound like everyone else’s, and also that everyone in the world is lying when they say they are “goals-oriented.” No one is goals-oriented.
