One of the most surprising things for me was to learn that not all companies will give you an expense account or a company credit card. You’d think that if you had a credit card, you’d be safe, but I once had to get a cashier’s check for almost $400 for a work event. Have money for group gifts. Have enough credit.

For me, and this may or may not be the case with you, I learned I was bored, unhappy, stretched too thin, and I was neglecting myself. How did I learn this? However, after I’m in a role for 2-3 years I’ve learned the ins and outs of my new boss, role, job, dept, and company. I learned I need a vacation ASAP.
