To add an attachment, click on the Insert tab and choose Attach File or Attach Item. I also like to turn on the stat holiday alerts in Outlook so you will see all the stat holidays in a calendar year. To add holidays, go under Tools, Options, choose Calendar Options and in the middle you will see Add Holidays.

There are just too many passwords to remember, and that doesnt include my bosss passwords that I also need to know because I have to check his emails as well as my own. Some sites use your email address as the log in, while others require you to create your own. I keep mine in an encrypted Word file on my computer. Works so far!

Sort – everything into boxes/containers according to what needs to be done: file , shred, recycle , refer, toss, etc. Process the paper – take the items you sorted into boxes and put them where they belong: filing, your tickler or reading folder or delegate/refer to a more appropriate person, etc.

If you are using the assistant's Outlook, do change the signature line to indicate you are sending the email on their behalf. Do as much filing as you can, but if you are unsure, leave it in a folder for the assistant to do on their return.

At one office I worked in we had a mail cart with slots for everyones mail, but it was filed First name, Last name. the phone book, standard filing practices etc.) This goes for filing and also how your contacts are ordered in Outlook. Tried and True Method: I set up 12 hanging file folders labelled January through to December. I then put the items in a two-fold file folder with his calendar printed out on the one side and the items he will need for the day on the other side. I finally had a chance to sit down and read your book over the holiday. Thats great!
