Small Business Labs

We too believe virtual reality is going to be big - eventually. But the hype around virtual reality seems to be getting ahead of the actual reality these days. A big driver of the excitement around VR is Facebook's Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. It has gone on pre-sale with a ship date of the end of March. Sentimental Clutter

Clutter Coach

by In her book Let Go of Clutter , Harriet Schechter writes about how to let go of sentimental clutter. This kind of clutter is stuff with valid emotional attachments, and logic doesn’t play any part in whether you decide to keep it or not. Items that make you feel joyful with the memories they bring back, such as love letters and home movies, you’ll want to keep.

Packing List for Holiday Travel

Clutter Coach

by Holiday travel season is coming up! If you’re going somewhere, use a packing list. It will ease your travel considerably. I use checklists a lot, all kinds of them. They’re very helpful for making sure nothing falls through the cracks, and I get the satisfaction of checking off items as I do them. I put everything on my checklists because I find that the most common things I forget are the ones that seem most obvious (my toothbrush, for example).

Where Does Clutter Come From?

Clutter Coach

by Clutter comes from many sources; a primary one is what we call delayed decision making. That’s when things pile up because you haven’t made a decision to move them on to their next stop: being put away, thrown away, taken to the cleaners, returned to their owner, tossed in the Goodwill bag, shredded, mailed back or foisted off on someone else.

Cute Fruit Storage

Clutter Coach

by I guess I've got fruit on the brain. I came across this striking fruit holder on Declutter It ! My first thought was that it looks like a toilet seat. But now I think it looks kind of like a life preserver. It's certainly unusual and would be a definite conversation piece. If your kitchen's horizontal spaces are full, this would be a great thing to have since it uses wall space (although I'm not clear on whether you can actually buy one or it's just a design).
