If I didn’t love my job then ANY time doing it would be costing me more than it’s worth. But having the self-esteem, confidence, and finding the balance is hard. I raised my graphic design rates several years ago and it made a huge difference in the clients I attracted, my income and my business self-esteem.

Especially when you’re inexperienced, self-esteem issues come into play – having people you respect say that you’re doing something right. Zero marginal cost products will approach zero in price over time. Ebooks aren’t a zero marginal cost product. Walking your own path takes a lot of guts.

I’d rather work with people who self-identify as businesspeople rather than bloggers. Businesspeople understand investment, as opposed to cost. Prices always tend towards marginal costs. We cost the government less in sick time and health care, and we help support the economy with the money we make. No way, dude.
