If you are booking a meeting for yourself, for others or both, give everyone ample time to respond to the meeting and provide a reminder (theres a check box for this in the meeting set up page) of at least 15 minutes. A day or two before the task is due is usually sufficient.

I would love to take some courses but being out in the west it is hard because most of them are located in Toronto and travel is a hard one to sell for my position.

I also learned at a "Working Smarter with Microsoft Outlook" seminar that we should not use e-mails as urgent requests. I finally had a chance to sit down and read your book over the holiday. Anyway, it taught me to re-read, more than once if necessary, an e-mail that I think is negative. Excellent material!
