Much easier than searching in Outlook and less stressful. When a meeting is finalized, I put the scheduling sheet in a completed file. Never underestimate what you can learn from other assistants. Learning from each other is a necessity. I finally had a chance to sit down and read your book over the holiday.

Then it is a simple matter of filling in the blanks on the day of the meeting. This does increase the preparation time, but on the day of the meeting it goes very smoothly with no stress. Under each agenda heading you can then record the appropriate information when you are in the meeting. It is interesting work.

I can honestly say that even though it was a hard time to go through, I ended up getting a much better job and a better opportunity and can look back on it as a good learning experience. If I forgot to bring my laptop with me to a meeting out of town, that would be an almost disaster for me because I prepare my minutes ahead of time on my computer and basically all I have to do at the meeting is fill in the blanks. Perhaps we put a lot of the stress on ourselves because we feel that every e-mail has to be replied to immediately. I also learned at a "Working Smarter with Microsoft Outlook" seminar that we should not use e-mails as urgent requests. I finally had a chance to sit down and read your book over the holiday.
