Having grit doesn’t mean never giving up; it means not giving up on our long-term goals. And sometimes the best way to achieve our long-term goals may be to give up on unproductive short-term goals. Recognizing how our goals line up can help us know when to quit and when to persist. Giving up can feel like failure.

In fact, a lot of the ideas in this book are ones I use with my clients and ones I put in my own book, 52 Simple Ways to Get Organized.

As I neared the end of writing my first book , Find Your Courage , I decided it was time to see whether I could find a publisher. Eventually, I decided to change tack and self-publish, selling my book via my speaking engagements and newsletter database. We think this is an outstanding book,” they said. Bah humbug, I thought.

I’ll be looking back through my journal entries to make sense of this review as well. In March I interviewed Austin Kleon for my podcast again. Pun not intended).

The woman helped her get a job interview at Sears, and during the interview, they asked Milchtein, “What department do you want to work in?” One student wrote in a review, “Chaya is informative, engaging and funny. Milchtein replied that she needed a job. Her reply was, “Whichever one makes the most money.”
