A Sudanese woman, Alik, who was pregnant and had two young children in tow, arrived in Fort Worth, Texas, without her husband, Dyan, in 2012. With the support of generous sponsors, volunteers and donors, the couple has overseen a multitude of makeovers, giving families under incredible stress a huge home blessing and a new reason to smile.

Most likely they will suffer post-traumatic stress as will the families. We can give our very best this week at work especially as we wrap up 2012. And as you sit around the table enjoying a magnificent holiday feast and cuddle up around the Christmas tree exchanging gifts and laughing, make sure you are in the moment.

Can you imagine the stress for those parents? The kitchen was huge; there were about 8 of us cooking and preparing. I love giving of myself.

As I walked by Veranda C, I saw that Brian Burge and Beverlina were hard at work putting the finishing touches on the many displays of helpful resources and Star Wear gift items in the ODI Boutique. Joan talked about how stress affects women badly and often causes depression. She works on each one through the week at some point.
