It reports that 13.9% The good news is the poverty rate has been drifting down since 2011. In September the U.s. Census Bureau released the Supplemental Poverty Measure: 2017. of Americans lived in poverty in 2017, which is statistically the same as in 2016. Due to these problems, the supplemental poverty measure was developed in 2010.

Over 40 percent of the adult workforce reports currently or previously having worked as an Independent. The trend on this has been consistently upward since the study was first started in 2011.  The two predictions that cover this are: 1.   By 2027, more than half of the workforce will be, or will have been, an Independent.

Ardent Partners recently released their 2016-2017 State of Contingent Workforce Management report.    According to the report, the use of contingent workers by corporations continues to grow and accounts for nearly 38 percent of all workers in 2016. .  This is a very fast growth rate by labor market standards.

500 companies blogging declined in 2011.  But in 2011 only 37% did. 500 report using some form of social media. .  The research shows the number of Inc.   It actually declined quite a bit.  In 2010 half of the Inc. 500 blogged.   While blogging is down, social media usage is up.

 According to a labor report written by the Post Office in 2011 , they are looking to grow their contingent workforce to 30% of their total workforce by 2015. The WSJ added the "[part-time]" to better explain what "noncareer flexibles" are, but the Post Office includes full-time contingents in this category.

 Data on this is hard to come by, but the report cites a study saying close to 40% of young college grads are in jobs that don't require a college degree.  Between 2000 and 2011 real wages for high school workers under age 25 fell by 11.1%. Wages for high school and college grads have also taken hit.
