Think about it this way: If you were in a doctor’s office and had the option between reading a newsletter on fashion or flipping through a magazine on fashion, which would you pick? You can choose to digitize only a portion of your book and offer the full version for purchase or in exchange for an email subscription. Allow open access.

And I definitely don’t want to purchase something from a company I can’t trust to ask me nicely to pay attention to what they’re doing. And as you do this, invite them and if they like you enough they might sign up for your newsletter. My email lists are not for sale, and I don’t purchase email list. It’s easier, yes.

So What Do I Do With My Newsletter/Autoresponder Now? Question, though–if one had (theoretically, of course) purchased an earlier edition in January and–naturally–been stunned and impressed by its quality, would it still be worth that person’s time and money to buy it again for the new improvements?

That would make it the norm, the expected… would there still be resistence to purchase? A paid newsletter is another way to deliver content. People can and do pay for these kinds of newsletters. What if every blog/site that was created today came standard with a premium content section? I’m not convinced.
