If you are just starting out as a VA, we recommend you join networking groups that may be more suitable to the challenges experienced by other novice VAs. We call ourselves NAVA (Northern Arizona Virtual Assistants) but anyone who meets our description of “seasoned&# is welcome to come, whether or not you are based in our area.

This is where an assistant network can come in handy. I often reach out to my network to get answers to problems that come up at the office or just to lend a sympathetic ear. Having the opportunity to hash it out with another assistant is a great resource. When you leave a job, you dont have to leave your network behind.

I logged onto my computer last week and put in my network password, then to open my Outlook account I had to put another password in for that. If someone scans your computer or network for that word, they'll find your file right off. Lets enjoy our day together.© August 03, 2010 Jolene said.

I could help them and they could help me, but I also found it to be good networking. Holgate is the Executive Assistant to the President, she also reports to the Director of Human Resources and manages a staff of four. Lynn has organized strategic events such as the companys internal trade show, all-hands meetings, the annual awards banquet, internal events and leadership off-site meetings.

I have a network of assistants that I call friends, although some are just phone colleagues, but we help each other. It works better if you have a whole pool of resources with different strengths to call upon.
