During my Become an Inner Circle Assistant workshop in Houston, I asked the attendees (a rather large group representing various companies), to list their biggest issues with e-mail. Volume -- by far, this was the biggest complaint in terms of managing the tremendous volume of e-mails. Dealing with different time zones.

The people, especially management, top management, want people back. I have all of the capabilities and the attention of people that I enjoy when I’m actually in a workshop physically with them. I think time zones have an impact on that to a degree. Change management. Neither is it cheap to deploy it.
