Then, you need to assign tasks to each goal, where you break the goal down into manageable chunks. Narrow them down to the amount that you can manage (usually 3 - 5), but some people can do more or less. Having a to-do list can be very helpful in accomplishing your tasks, but also setting goals. Next, add a time frame to each task.

If they prompt you to get it done right away (if this is not your immediate supervisor), make sure to let your manager know. They are there to help, since they are managing you. If you feel that your manager thinks of you this way, talk to them about it, but in a professional manner. Dont feel that you are not doing your job.

Then I would create worksheets within each sheet with headings such as: Name Time of Call Reason for Call If you work for more than one manager or you need to track calls for more than one person, you might want to create a heading that states something like "Person Receiving Call" or something along the lines of this.

Thats how I get things done around my office, since I work for about 30 staff, which includes 5 managers. to the president, 3 VPs, and the HR manager. My suggestion to this is to be persistent. Thats how I ended up getting my current job. You should see my follow-up list. Its quite large.

The only reason we have file folders within hanging file folders is that if we need to present files to a client or to a manager, we can take the entire file folder with that information to the client or manager. I found that my job transformed into a sudo management position with a great amount of responsibility. As a male, I have worked as a admin several times throughout my career. I enjoyed the position for the same reasons that you mentioned in your blog post. I never found it weird or uncomfortable.

If the management at your organization doesnt care about whats going on, is this really a place that you want to be at? You mentioned that youve spoken to your supervisor, HR, etc. Did you take it up each level all the way to the top? If all else fails, you might want to start considering what type of work environment you are in.
