I think with the education system not taking spelling as seriously as it used to and with the use of Spell Check, we are just not noticing anymore or taking the time to look it over carefully. Men especially have complained about their big thumbs as they try to type on the small keyboard. He said the keyboard has to be bigger.

When the new interface debuted in late 2020, I was immediately turned off. I just didn’t like what I was looking at.

Last weekend, the keyboard lights went out. The ALT works the same way as the ALT key on your computer keyboard. It makes the alternate numbers and characters on the keyboard available. As you can imagine, I couldn’t use the keyboard at night. Read on, you may find a surprise. I was a bit frustrated. Time will tell.

My system uses two e-mail folders ONLY. A major part of my processing speed is in keyboard shortcuts in my e-mail program. You should look into keyboard shortcuts too. For each step of my process, I have a keyboard shortcut such as CTRL-1, CTRL-2 , CTRL-3, etc. For work, I use Outlook.

I connected a Bluetooth keyboard, downloaded some new apps, and it mostly worked for drafting blog posts, rough drafts, and replying to emails. But then my system sagged. I couldn’t search online nearly as quickly, I lacked the efficiency of keyboard shortcuts, and my phone was starting to lag.

Similarly I have a large A4 desk pad next to my keyboard for any quick notes I need to make, things to remember (like phone numbers for instance), and tasks people give me at my desk. To remember the details that my managers so often forgets I have a really comprehensive archive system that I know how to search through.

I close all of them by either clicking on the "X" at the top-right corner or pressing ALT-F4 (keyboard shortcut to remember - can be very useful). Once I am finished with the task, I would look at my next task on my to-do list and figure out what applications I wont need. Then I would open up the applications associated with the next task.

Calendar – For quick reference I have a one sheet per day calendar block on my desk. There is also something very satisfying in pulling each day off and chucking it in the bin! Office Equipment.

I am not a big fan of touch screen keyboards as they are not a true QWERTY keyboard. The touch screen keyboard won’t give you a fast typing rate because you have to type with one finger versus all 10. It’s a great reminder system or to do list. It also is cause for a lot of errors.

This saves a bunch of time if you have to do a function several times and there isnt a keyboard short cut. This repeats the last function you did (ie inserting a row in Excel) if you press the ctrl Y you will keep inserting rows.
