  There are many fantastic systems out there for managing tasks.    Often, people fail with their to do system because they simply don't trust that it will work for them.   What system or tool do you use? I have a clipboard that sits to the left of my keyboard. To Dos Are Done.

  Some say the traditional paper planner is the best, while others swear by their smart-phone or on line tool.  If you aren't particularly tech-savvy, you might feel more comfortable using a paper planner, rather than having to learn the ins and outs of an electronic diary system. Choose what you will use!

I use this all the time on my calendar and my boss's calendar, and it helps us both to know which events are phone calls which he can take in the office or on the road (yellow) or which events will require travel (blue). I have a similar system with my boss. but I don't use that system or know what the colours mean.

Bring Forward System or Using Tasks in Outlook Have a system to follow up on items your boss has asked you to do or things you know you need to do. I love this system and at the end of each day I go through my folder and pull out what I need for the next day. Let your fingers do the walking: Quick keyboard sh.

I sat at my kitchen table watching my phone blow up while people were emailing and IM’ing me all at the same time wanting to know why they couldn’t get on the call. I then review the list and organize it by priority and then copy and paste it into a “touch base” email I send to my CEO. Do you use a Blackberry or an iPhone?

No delicate tippy-tapping on the keyboard for me. The next time you get an email that seems to be a thinly veiled jab – or even an outright insult – to you or your work, take a deep breath, wait a bit, and write back a quick email that asks if you can discuss this either via online chat or over the phone the next day.

MacJournal Shortcut MacJournal also features a keyboard shortcut, so every time I feel my idea will be pretty close to a blog post (as opposed to other types of ideas, like blog post series, guest post ideas, strategies or just interesting bits and pieces) I use this shortcut directly. And I plan to look into all of these listed apps.
