Instead of answering the phone whenever it rings consider setting aside an hour or so each day specifically for taking and making phone calls. Create and use an info packet.

Here are some tips that help me: Turning off all of the rings, dings, and notifications for email, Slack, and messaging on my phone and computer. Practicing good self-care habits. Verbalizing my needs.

Then Kelly and Ferriss agreed on something I hadn’t thought of, their phones are poor input devices. It isn’t easy to produce something on our phones, so why focus on it when you can do better work someplace else? Okay, so using my phone as an input device didn’t work – but that was only one side to the coin.

The software allows you to speak into the phone and then it writes the words into a text file of some type. From there, you can text, tweet or write memos without needing to find a computer or laboriously typing it out on the tiny keyboard of a mobile phone. It saves time and prevents the need to carry a laptop.

Back then, any technical problem that I had -- phone, computer, palm pilot (remember, there weren't smart phones back then.), I had quickly logged into my computer to record my podcast and to grab some information before heading out the door.
